I love fantasy movies and this type of crap movie is the reason to why I almost don't want to tell people I love fantasy movies, the respect for this genre is already so low. First of all, you can immediately sense the complete lack of seriousness. The plot is unoriginal as it's possible to make it, good vs. evil - literally. A small group of God's soldiers / Gargoyles are fighting demons, and they are apparently the only ones who can protect the human kind. The entire plot happens within a fraction of one city, fighting in alleys, the rest of the world is left out, God has placed a minor "army" on the earth and then turned his back. This makes me think of the Harry Potter books/movies, Voldemort was never addressed as the "world's" most powerful wizard, and everything happened in England and everybody were acting like if the entire world/England would end if Harry didn't defeat Voldemort and died. My head was filled with big global, political and cultural questions, but then I remembered they're books for children, and "I, Frankenstein" is just extremely poorly made. "I, Frankenstein" lives in its own tiny, tiny bubble, but apparently holds the entire world’s fate in its hands. As the story goes on, the movie kills what potentially could have been a huge climax, turn of an event and just epic. It was on beforehand predictable that Frankenstein and the Gargoyles would destroy the human bodies and therefore stop the demons from creating a huge army, and sabotage a grand battle this dull and straight-forward movie could need. The actors performed well and the effects were good. That’s pretty much it, it was mediocre. Oh, and of course did the good win over the evil. Cliché, Cliché, or is it surprise, surprise?
